6.3 Exporting and Importing Forms

After you have created and published your forms you can export them from one environment and import them to another environment depending on your access permissions. For example, you can export from a test environment and import to production. You can also export and import forms that are not associated with a workflow. However, you cannot delete a form that is associated with a workflow.

There is no limit to the number of forms that you can export, but you cannot import more than the configured size limit. If you import a number of forms, the Workflow Administration Console informs you of the status of each form, including whether the import was successful. Note that you must re-import any forms that fail to import.

While importing a form, if the Workflow Administration Console has a form with the same name, it overwrites the existing data with the imported data.

To export or import forms:

  1. Click Catalog > Forms.

  2. Select the check box for one or more forms, and click the Export Forms icon.

  3. Type a file name to export.

  4. Click Export.

The Workflow Administration Console creates a zipped file which includes the selected forms in JSON format. Click the zipped file to download.

  5. To import forms, click the Import Forms icon and click Choose.

Navigate to the folder where your forms zip file is located, then click Open. The application displays the associated files included in the zipped folder.

  6. Click Import.

The forms that you import continue to be in a draft state until you decide to publish.
