Back Up DAH and DIH

There are no actions that automatically back up the Distributed Action Handler (DAH) and Distributed Index Handler (DIH). You can make a manual backup by copying the relevant files and saving them in a secondary location.

In general, the DAH does not change state. You should back up the configuration file when you make changes, but you might not need to back up the whole DAH directory.

TIP:

You might want to back up the whole DAH directory if you are making extensive use of stored states.

Micro Focus recommends that you shut down your DAH and DIH before copying the files to back them up. Some files are memory mapped, for example the DIH queue, and these files might not be saved to disk when you copy a backup while the servers are running. In this case, you might lose some of your recent jobs.

When you copy the data directories, you do not need to copy the logs, license, or uid directories, because these do not contain required data.

To restore the DIH and DAH, simply copy the backup files to an installation of the component.

NOTE:

Data files are platform dependent, so you can restore only to a similarly configured machine.
