PCI Grammars

The handling of payment cards (such as credit card and debit cards) is of the highest importance to all organizations, because the loss or inappropriate use of such data can result in both loss of reputation and severe penalties from regulators. Named Entity Recognition offers PCI (Payment Card Industry) grammars to help determine where such information is being stored or communicated by identifying the following entity types:

  • ABA routing

  • CAV2/CID/CVC2/CVV2

  • CUSIP

  • Date (start/expiration)

  • IBAN

  • Magstripe

  • Name

  • PAN (credit card/payment card number)

  • PIN block

  • Service code

  • VAT
