SharePoint Remote Connector

DEPRECATED: SharePoint Remote Connector is deprecated in Knowledge Discovery versions 26.2 and later. OpenText recommends that you use SharePoint OData Connector instead.

The SharePoint OData Connector offers several improvements over the SharePoint Remote Connector, including:

  • Support for OAuth 2.0 for connections to the SharePoint API.
  • Support for both Windows and Linux platforms, with no dependency on the .NET framework.

You can upgrade to SharePoint OData Connector, without having to perform a full synchronize and without having to re-index any documents - refer to the SharePoint OData Connector documentation for more information.

SharePoint Remote Connector is still available for existing implementations, but might be incompatible with new functionality. It might be removed in future.

SharePoint Remote Connector is a Knowledge Discovery connector that retrieves information from a Microsoft SharePoint repository, through the SharePoint web services. Unless you want to place and release holds on documents, there is no need to install additional web services on the SharePoint server.

The connector can also retrieve information from an instance of SharePoint Online.

You can use the connector to keep your text index up-to-date with the information your organization has in SharePoint.
