Using Java System Properties
Some of the behavior of Find can be customized by setting Java system properties. These properties are applied to the Java virtual machine (JVM) in which the Find application runs. To set system properties, edit the command that is used to start Java. Add the -D option to set each property.
The following example sets two Java system properties named idol.find.home and server.port.
java -Didol.find.home=/opt/find -Dserver.port=8443 -jar find.war
TIP: System properties are passed to Java, not to Find directly, so it is important that the -D option(s) are included in the command before -jar .
If you installed Find as a service on Windows using WinSW, edit the options passed to Java in the WinSW configuration file.
If you installed Find as a service on Linux, edit the options passed to Java in the systemd unit configuration file (for distributions that use systemd) or in the start script.
Any changes you make to the service configuration will take effect the next time you start the service.
