7.3 InfoConnect Database Editor

Use the Database Editor to view the contents of your InfoConnect database The InfoConnect database (ic32.cfg) contains connection settings information for ALC, T27, and UTS terminal sessions. The database contains information about all the InfoConnect packages, path templates and libraries that have been installed, as well the paths that have been created. The InfoConnect packages, path templates and libraries are included based on which product features (emulations and transports) are installed. and add, modify, or delete the paths and path-related information.The Database Editor can be used with any InfoConnect-compatible library, including those installed with InfoConnect and any custom or third-party libraries developed by other vendors.

To create a path using the Database Editor

  1. From the Connection Type, select the path template for the type of path you want to create.

  2. If the bottom portion of the application window displays more than one tab, click the Paths tab.

  3. Click + on the toolbar (or click Add Record from the Record menu).

  4. Enter a path name or use the default name.

  5. Complete the bottom portion of the application window.

    The items that appear here vary, depending on which path template is selected as the Connection Type. If the application window displays a Configure Path or Configure Channel button, be sure to click these buttons to configure the path.

    For information about any item on the application window, press F1 when the cursor is in the field that you want information about, or when the desired item is highlighted.

  6. When you have finished, click the check mark on the toolbar (or click Save Record from the Record menu.)

To edit a path using the Database Editor

  1. From the Connection Type, select the path template for the type of path you want to modify.

  2. If the bottom portion of the application window displays more than one tab, click the Paths tab.

  3. Select the path you want to modify.

  4. Make the desired changes. When you have finished, click the check mark on the toolbar (or click Save Record from the Record menu.)

NOTE:You can also launch the Database Editor from the Manage Paths dialog box in the InfoConnect Workspace.
