12.3.5 PTR Print Spooler Configuration Dialog Box

Complete this dialog box to configure your PTR setup with the Windows Print Spooler.

Document Name

The document name is a temporary filename used when spooling the data to a disk file before printing it. If you do not specify a name, a name is generated for this purpose.

You can specify the &F variable in the Page Setup dialog box to include this name in printed output.

Operation

Select from the following to determine how PTRSpooler formats printer output.

Passthru Printing

No formatting. Use this if this host data is preformatted for your printer, such as postscript data for a laser printer.

 

CR Advances Paper

A carriage return advances the paper in addition to moving the print head to the left margin setting.

 

LF Returns Carriage

A line feed moves the print head to the left margin setting in addition to advancing the paper.

 

Independent CR and LF

A carriage return moves the print head to the beginning of the line, but the paper is not advanced. A line feed advances the paper, but the print head remains in its current column position.

Redirect Output to File

Select this item to send the data to a file. When you select this option an Append To File setting becomes visible. Use this setting to determine whether or not new content is added to the end of an existing file.

Print Setup

Opens the Print Setup dialog box.

Font

Opens the Font dialog box

Page Setup

Opens the Page Setup dialog box.
