7.5.13 Channel Tab (INT1 Channel Options)

Suppress listening message

If the transport used with INT1 (such as the InfoConnect TCP/IP Transport) is configured to listen for host connection requests, INT1 can display the message Listening... on the terminal emulation screen while waiting for the host connection request.

Select this option to suppress these messages.

Use short text HICs

Depending on the capabilities of your host, you might need to transmit short text header information codes (HICs) in segments of 255 or fewer bytes.

Select this option if your host requires that you use short text HICs (for example, if you’re connecting to a System 80 host).

Delay initial transaction

Select this option if you have problems establishing a connection with a host application because the initial transaction is being sent to the host too quickly. This option allows you to specify a predetermined amount of time before sending the initial transaction. Clear this option if you want to send any initial transaction as soon as the host is ready to accept input.

Send READY status by default

Select this option to send a READY status to the host application each time you print. Some host applications, such as DCP/OS on the Distributed Communications Processor (DCP), will not print unless they receive a READY status from INT1. In some cases, the host will stop communicating with the PC when you try to print. However, selecting this option might cause printing problems with other host applications that do not require a READY status.

Open host session on any transmit

Select this option even if you type an invalid $$OPEN command and transmit. Clear this option only if you type a valid $$OPEN command or transmit a blank line.

Suppress initial cursor position sequence

Select this option to prevent INT1 from preceding the initial transaction with a cursor positioning sequence. Some host applications (such as SNA Net) require a cursor positioning sequence.

Activation Strings

Specify the activation strings for Connectand or Disconnect.
