7.5.11 Environment Tab (INT1 Channel Options)

When you configure an INT1 path, you must specify the environment.

Environments

Specify the $$OPEN name that you will use during terminal emulation to access the host application (up to 12 characters).

For example, to access the host application by typing $$OPEN MAPPER during terminal emulation, you would enter MAPPER in this box.

General

Application

Specify the name of the host application.

Initial transaction

Specify any initial transaction that is associated with the host application you want to run. For example, to run MAPPER, you transmit the ^ symbol.

Send initial transaction after receiving

The word or phrase that the PC must send to the host to establish a connection with the host and access a particular host operating mode or application (such as TIP, Demand).

Specify this only if you're using a Host LAN Controller or a Distributed Communications Processor in IP router mode.

Specify the method of authentication used to access the host:

  • Kerberos
  • NTLM
  • Userid/Password
