UDP FRAD Path Configuration Dialog Box

How do I get to this dialog box?

From InfoConnect Manager

  1. Select Paths in the left pane, then click Add.

  2. Select UDPFRAD and click OK.

From the Database Editor

  1. Under Connection type, select UDPFRAD

  2. Select an existing path (or, click + to add a new record).

  3. Click Configure Path.

The InfoConnect UDP FRAD Transport package consists of the UDP FRAD external interface library (EIL). This library enables PCs to communicate with a SHARES host via UDP.

Use this dialog box to specify the configuration settings for your host connection and customize the UDP FRAD path template to your environment.

Host Select the name of the EDS SHARES host you want to connect to. This option is available only when you are using EDS SHARES as your network.
IP Address If you are not using EDS SHARES, type the IP address for the host you are connecting to. If you are using EDS SHARES as your network, this field is filled automatically after you select a host. If you are using EDS SHARES and connecting to a print server, create a new Host entry and type the IP address of the print server.*
Delete Click this button to delete the host that currently appears in the Hostlist box.
Notify: 1 Select the primary host to receive an initialization message when the print server is active.
If you are using EDS SHARES and have selected a print server in the Host list box, you must identify at least one host to receive the initialization message.
Notify: 2 Select the secondary host to receive an initialization message when the print server is active.
every NN minutes Select the number of minutes to periodically send a reminder notification to the print host. The reminder contains the terminal address and is helpful should you lose connection with the print host. The default number of minutes is 30. Your situation will determine the how often the notification should be sent.
Network Select the type of network you use: EDS SHARES, System One, or Amadeus.

Note

If you use EDS SHARES and have selected a print server in the Hostlist box, you must identify at least one host to receive the initialization message.

Terminal ID

Fixed ID Select this option if the connection uses a fixed terminal ID.
LN Type the line number (LN) assigned to you by your system administrator. This option is available only when you are using EDS SHARES as your network.
IA Type the interchange address (IA) assigned to you by your system administrator. This option is available only when you are using EDS SHARES as your network.
TA Type the terminal address (TA) assigned to you by your system administrator.
Use ID Management Select this option if you're establishing a path that connects over the centralized management server. Click Configure ID Management to enter the Management Server URL.
ID Pool If the Management Server is configured to use a pool of IDs, select this option and then specify the pool name from the drop-down menu or click Configure pools to configure the pool name.

Custom Port Numbers

If your site requirements require you to configure custom port numbers, enter the new port configuration in this group box. Otherwise, you do not need to use custom port numbers. Port numbers are 3000 plus your Terminal Address (TA) number, for example, 3016.

Source The local PC port number.
Dest The remote host port number.
Cnf File (Optional) To use a configuration file, type the full path name or browse to locate the file.
