ALC Status Line

While you have a session established, the host displays messages at the bottom of your session window. These areas are the host status line and the broadcast message line. Information displayed in these areas tells you whether the session is running properly.

Host Status Line

The host status line displays host-related messages. Below the host status line is the broadcast message line.

Message Description
Sys Unavail The host system is not available.
TX/message format error There is an error transmitting the message to the host or when the on-screen format is not correct. The usual text displayed is Reenter.
RX error There is a problem with a message received from the host. The usual text is Push Rpt.
Keyboard Locked The ENTER key has been pressed to send a message to the host. The usual display is Kybd Lock.
Keyboard Unlocked The response from the host has been received and the keyboard is available. Pressing Reset always clears the keyboard.
CR Newline Display is on.
UMSG The host has sent an unsolicited message to the terminal address.

Broadcast Message Line

The broadcast message line displays SITA-related messages:

Message Description
Go ahead This is a SITA broadcast message. It means that you can now carry on sending messages to the host. It usually appears when the system has come back into operation after being out of operation (down).
Stop resa navb1 This is a SITA broadcast message. It means that the host you have been using is not available or is out of operation (down) for some reason.
Stop sita z1 navb1 There is a breakdown within the SITA network causing problems with host connection.
Stop sita z2 navb2 There is a breakdown within the SITA network causing problems with host connection.
Up again This is a SITA broadcast message. It means that the system has come back into operation after being out of operation (down).
