Configure Character Settings for T27

How do I get to this dialog box?
  1. Open a T27 terminal session.

  2. Open the Settings window.

    The steps depend on your user interface mode.

    User interface mode Steps
    Ribbon or InfoConnect Browser With a session open, from the Quick Access Toolbar, click .
    TouchUX With a session open, tap the Gear icon and then select Document Settings.
    Classic MDI With a session open, go to Options > Settings.
  3. Under Terminal Configuration, select Configure Character Settings.

Character Interpretation

Option Description
When DC1 received Stay In Receive - Keep the session in receive mode.

Clear Line - Clear the page from home to the end of the line where the cursor is located.
When DC2 received Toggle Forms - Switch from forms mode to non-forms mode, or from non-forms mode to forms mode if at least one unprotected field exists on the page.

Advance DCP - Stay in the current mode and move the datacomm pointer forward one space
When CR received CR Only - Enter A carriage return.
When LF received CR + LF - Enter a carriage return and a line feed

Options

Option Description
Receive mode hold Remain in receive mode after receiving a message from the host. If you clear this option, T27 switches to local mode after receiving a message.

Note: If When DC1 received is set to Stay In Receive, the session will stay in receive mode even if Receive Mode Hold is cleared
Forms transmit to cursor Transmit all transmittable fields between home and the cursor position when the session is in forms mode. If you clear this option, T27 transmits all transmittable fields on the page
Line at a time transmit Transmit only the line containing the cursor. If you clear this option, T27 transmits the entire page.

Note: This option does not affect transmissions when you press the minus key (-) on the numeric keypad.
Raw 8-bit data Transmit extended characters to the host and preserve the values above ASCII 127. If you clear this option, T27 transmits extended characters as 7-bit characters.
FF clears tabs Clear any variable tabs when T27 receives an FF character from the host. If you clear this option, T27 will not clear the variable tabs.

Note: T27 always clears the page after receiving the FF character, whether or not you select this option.
SOH clears screen Clear the page containing the cursor when T27 receives an SOH character from the host. This ensures that the host has an empty page on which to write data. If you clear this option, T27 takes no action when it receives an SOH character. This option applies to non-forms mode only.
SOH exits forms Exit forms mode when T27 receives an SOH character from the host. If you clear this option, T27 takes no action when it receives an SOH character.This option applies to forms mode only.
ETX advance Move the datacomm pointer one position to the right of the ETX location when T27 receives an ETX character (end of text character) from the host. If you clear this option, T27 moves the Datacomm pointer to the ETX location.
Enable mobile home Allow host sequences to set a mobile home. If you clear this option, any host sequence that sets a mobile home will be ignored.

Character Display

Option Description
SO/SI extended characters Select this option to convert the SO character to ESC, ' . and to convert the SI character to ESC, ' /. Any extended characters are preceded by SO (making them appear in reverse video) and followed by SI (making any subsequent characters underlined).

If you clear both this option and SO/SI Translation, SO/SI characters are sent to the host without being converted. Any extended characters are preceded by ESC, SO (which converts any subsequent 8-bit characters to 7-bit characters) and followed by ESC, SI (which indicates that any subsequent characters will be handled as they normally would).

If you clear this option and select SO/SI Translation, SO characters are converted to ESC, ' . and SI characters are converted to ESC, ' /. Any extended characters are preceded by ESC, SO and followed by ESC, SI.

These configuration options apply only to data being transmitted to the host, not data received from the host.
SO/SI translation Select this option to convert the SO character to ESC, ' . and to convert the SI character to ESC, ' /. Any extended characters are preceded by ESC, SO (which converts any subsequent 8-bit characters to 7-bit characters) and followed by ESC, SI (which indicates that any subsequent characters will be handled as they normally would).

If you clear this option, SO/SI characters are sent to the host without being converted, and any extended characters are preceded by ESC, SO and followed by ESC, SI.

Note: If SO/SI Extended Characters is selected, then selecting or clearing this option has no effect. This option performs the functions described above only if SO/SI Extended Characters is cleared.
VT page advance Select this option if the session is configured for 32 lines per page and you want vertical tabs set on lines 1, 9, 17, and 25. If you clear this option, no vertical tabs will be set.
Display ETX Display an end-of-text character when the host sends an ETX character.
Display CR Display a carriage return symbol when the host sends a CR.
Display HT Display a horizontal tab symbol when the host sends an HT character.
