Configure Input Settings for T27

How do I get to this dialog box?
  1. Open a T27 terminal session.

  2. Go to Document Settings.

    The steps depend on your user interface mode.

    User interface mode Steps
    Ribbon or InfoConnect Browser From the Quick Access Toolbar, click New Document .
    TouchUX Tap the Folder icon and then under File, select New.
    Classic MDI From the File menu, select New Session.
  3. Under Terminal Configuration, select Configure Input Settings.

Key Interpretation

Option Description
Clear key interpretation Specifies which data to clear when you clear data from the screen.

Clear entire display - Clear all information on the screen, including delimiters.

Unprotected only - Clear only unprotected fields.
Specify key Specifies the format to use to report the cursor position to the host when you use the Specify keystroke (ASCII or Hex).

Cursor

Option Description
Cursor at end of display The action that you want the cursor to take when it reaches the last column of the last line on the screen and you type a character.
Return key moves cursor to The position that you want the cursor to move to when you press ENTER.

Options

Option Description
Insert key inserts space Insert a space at the cursor location when you press Insert (in addition to toggling between insert-in-line and overwrite mode). If you clear this option, pressing Insert will toggle between insert-in-line and overwrite mode, but will not insert a space at the cursor location.
Specify key sends page number Send the host the page number (along with the column and line information that is normally sent) when you use the Specify keystroke. If you clear this option, only the column and line information are sent.
Persistent insert key Select this option to keep the following keystrokes from disabling Insert mode: TAB, ENTER, UP ARROW, DOWN ARROW, RIGHT ARROW, LEFT ARROW, WORD LEFT, WORD RIGHT, END OF LINE, BACKSPACE, BACK TAB, TRANSMIT, and DELETE. When this option is selected, only the Insert key will disable Insert mode.
Special scroll mode Select this option to display any data received from the host on the subsequent page when the current page is filled. If you clear this option, the data appears on the current page only. When the current page is filled, the cursor moves home on the same page, and the data received from the host overwrites the data currently on the screen.
Destructive backspace Select this option to delete the character at the cursor location when you press the backspace key. If you clear this option, pressing the backspace key moves the cursor to the left without deleting any characters.
Display return key symbol Display a carriage return symbol when you press ENTER. (This does not affect CRs sent by the host.)
Display tab key symbol Display a tab symbol when you press TAB.
Enable lower case Enables display of lower case, as well as upper case letters on the screen. If this is option is disabled, only upper case letters are displayed.
Enable word wrap Select this option to move the word being typed to the next line if the word has more characters than can fit on the current line. If you clear this option, the word being typed will be split between the current line and next line when no room is left on the current line.

Note: This option is primarily used with LINC applications. If you enable this feature, be sure to manually add delimiters at the end and beginning of each line.
Enable alarm when cursor is at Sound a beep when the cursor is in the specified Row and Column.
