The Mouse Tab

Using this tab, you can specify the actions associated with the mouse buttons and other aspects of how the mouse operates.

NOTE:If you configure the right mouse double-click, be sure to change the right mouse single-click from Context Menu to No Action. If the right mouse single click remains Context Menu, the right mouse double-click also performs that action.

If you configured the mouse for left-handed use in the Windows Control Panel, configured actions will for example apply to the right mouse button rather than the left one.

To specify the default selection style for the mouse

  1. If a session is not already open, open one.

  2. From the Options menu, click Session Preferences.

  3. Click the Mouse tab.

  4. Click the desired selection style. See the table below for information on the Default Selection Style.

This option is dimmed (unavailable) if your emulator does not support it.

Default Selection Style

Click the option that indicates how you want to select text using the mouse:

  • Text: A contiguous stream from the starting pointer position to the ending pointer position .

  • Rectangle: A block that includes all lines and columns from the starting pointer position to the ending pointer position

The selection style also affects how the text is handled when you click Select All from the Edit menu and then paste the text.
