Record Pages

Move the slider to specify the number of seconds (2-20) that Accessory Manager should wait before recording a host screen. This delay ensures that all the data buffers have been received from the host before recording occurs.

The following are recommended values for various transports:

Emulator

Number of seconds

TCP-A, HLCN, INT1

5

PEPGate LAN Workstation

10

Telnet (3270 emulation)

8

Telnet (5250 emulation)

8

Telnet (VT emulation)

12

All other transports default to 8 seconds.

The appropriate amount of time varies, depending on the speed of your network and the mechanism that you use to communicate with the host. For example, it takes less time to receive all the data from the host over a TCP/IP connection than a modem connection.

If you specify too few seconds, Accessory Manager might record the host screen before all the data buffers have been received, and you might experience problems when you try to access the recorded host screen. If you specify too many seconds, the process of recording host screens might be unnecessarily long. You might have to adjust this setting until you find the optimum speed for your situation.
