3.7.3 Properties Tab

Using this tab, you can create or edit a text or region HotSpot and define its properties.

Options

Description

HotSpot Text

Type the character or word to use as a HotSpot.

If Only Valid At is cleared, the text for the HotSpot must be unique within the session or scheme.

Type

Click the type of HotSpot to create.

This dialog box changes, depending on whether the HotSpot is a text HotSpot or a region HotSpot.

Options

Select or clear the options in this group box to define the properties of the text HotSpot.

Only Valid At

Select this option if the specified text should be a HotSpot only if it occurs in a specific row or column.

If you select this option, you must specify the row or column number in the adjacent text boxes.

If you clear this option, the text will be a HotSpot whenever it occurs anywhere in the session window.

Row

If you selected Only Valid At, type the row number where the specified text must occur in order to be a HotSpot. You can also specify the row number using the arrow buttons.

Column

If you selected Only Valid At, type the column number where the specified character or the first letter of the word or phrase must occur in order to be a HotSpot. You can also specify the column number using the arrow buttons.

Case Sensitive

Select this option if the specified text should be a HotSpot only if it appears in the same combination of lowercase and uppercase characters as specified in the HotSpot Text text box.

If you clear this option, the text will be a HotSpot whether it appears uppercase or lowercase.

Text Is Preceded By A Space

Select this option if the specified text should be a HotSpot only if it is preceded by a space or field delimiter.

If you clear this option, the text will be a HotSpot whether it is preceded by a space or not.

Text Is Followed By A Space

Select this option if the specified text should be a HotSpot only if it is followed by a space or field delimiter.

If you clear this option, the text will be a HotSpot whether it is followed by a space or not.

Auto-Invoke When Text Appears On Display

Select this option to perform the action associated with this HotSpot whenever the HotSpot appears in the session window.

If you clear this option, you must double-click the HotSpot to make it perform its action.

HotSpot Name

Type the name to use to identify this region HotSpot.

This name must be unique for this session or scheme.

Region Description

Type the coordinates of the upper-left corner and lower right corner for the region HotSpot.
