Using this dialog box, you can specify the terminal type, file transfer protocol, and connection type to use for this session.

Options

Description

Host Type

This displays the type of host that you can connect to using this session.

Connection Type

Click the type of connection to use for the session.

If you are using an InfoConnect emulator, only InfoConnect appears in this list box. However, if you are running an Extra! for Accessory Manager emulator, this list box lists the connection types that are available for that emulator.

Display/Device Type

Click the type of terminal to emulate during the session.

You can specify a terminal type only if more than one terminal type is supported by the emulator. For example, UTS supports UTS 20, UTS 40, and UTS 60 terminal types, but T27 supports only T27.

In addition, you can specify a terminal type for only the host type displayed at the top of the dialog box. For example, if the host type is Unisys 2200, you can specify only UTS 20, UTS 40, or UTS 60 terminal types, but not T27, even if you have installed T27. To specify a terminal type for a different type, you must open a session designed for use with that host.

File Transfer Protocol

Click the file transfer protocol to use during the session.

This list box lists only those file transfer protocols that are appropriate for the host type displayed at the top of the dialog box.

Settings

Click this button to configure the component that has focus on this dialog box.

For example, if Display/Device Type has focus and you click Settings, the Settings dialog box appears, displaying the tabs that you need to complete to configure the selected terminal type.
