7.6.1 MATIP Path Wizard

The following options are available when configuring a MATIP host page using the Path Wizard.

Options

Description

Create a New Host Connection

Select to create a new MATIP host path.

Use an Existing Host Connection

Select to use a MATIP host path from the list of Available Connections.

Available Connections

A list of existing MATIP host paths.

Host IP Address

Type the IP address of the MATIP host. If you prefer, you can leave this field blank and enter a domain name instead.

Domain Name

Type the domain name of the MATIP host (up to 63 characters).If you prefer, you can leave this field blank and enter an IP address instead.

Local Port

Leave blank to allow the system to select an unused port, or type a port number if one is required for your firewall, for tracing, or for other reasons.

Remote Port

Type the remote port of the host, or leave blank to use the default port (350).

4-byte (H1 H2 A1 A2)

Select to use address pooling for this host path.

2-byte (A1 A2)

Select this to use only the last 2 bytes of the ASCU address (A1, A2) in the message headers.

IPARS

Select if the host uses IPARS encoding. This is the usual character set for ALC systems.

ASCII

Select if the host uses ASCII encoding. This is the usual character set for UTS systems.

EBCDIC

Select if the host uses EBCDIC encoding. This is the usual character set for IBM systems.

Host Name

Type a unique name for this host path.

Pooled

Select to use address pooling for this host path.

Direct

Select to specify a single unique address for this host path.

H1 H2

If you are using 4-byte addressing, enter the first 2 bytes of the Agent Set Control Unit (ASCU) cluster address in the H1 and H2 fields.

A1 A2

Enter the last 2 bytes of the Agent Set Control Unit (ASCU) cluster address in the A1 and A2 fields.

TA

Enter the terminal address (TA).

This is the terminal identifier in P1024B protocol. It must be a hexadecimal value in the range 00   2B or 2D   3F, inclusive.

Pool Name

Type a name for the pool you are creating.

Multiplier

For values that must be unique to each host connection, such as the terminal address (TA), the number specified in the Multiplier text box creates the specified number of automatically incremented values. For example, to create a pooled connection path with ten TAs, you would specify the beginning TA and then type 10 in the Multiplier text box.

Add

Choose to add one or more terminal addresses using the address parameters specified on this page.

Delete

Choose to delete the selected address from the pool.

Addresses

A list of terminal addresses that are included in the Pool specified above.

ALC CNF File

Type the complete path to the configuration file (.CNF) containing ALC terminal tool or host filter settings, if one is needed by your host, or use the Browse button to select the .CNF file.

Browse

Click this button to display the Select Config File dialog box.

Using this dialog box, you can select a .CNF file if one is needed by your host.

Retries

The number of consecutive unanswered connection status queries made before deciding that the MATIP session is broken.

Interval

The number of seconds between connection status queries.
