The Settings - 5250 Display Advanced Page

Use this dialog box to select word wrap and type-ahead options, enable Hex mode preserve, enable host beep, aid field exit mode and input inhibit auto reset supports for your 5250 display session.

Description

Miscellaneous

Includes word wrap and type-ahead options, enable Hex mode preserve, enable host beep, aid field exit mode, and input inhibit auto reset support for your 5250 display session.

Word Wrap

Select:

  • Host Controlled: Have the host control word wrap.

  • On: Have the PC control word wrap.

  • None: Turn word wrap off.

Type Ahead

Select:

  • Host Controlled : Have the host control the type-ahead feature.

  • On: Have the PC control the type-ahead feature, and enable keystrokes to be added to the keyboard buffer.

  • None: Turn off keyboard buffering.

Hex Mode Preserve

Instructs the host to interpret pairs of characters as hex digits and display the corresponding value for each pair until the RESET key is pressed.

Enable Host Beep

Instructs the users PC to beep when the host beeps.

Aid Field Exit Mode

Specifies that aid keys (such as ATTN, ENTER, Function keys) can be used while the cursor is in restricted fields.

Input Inhibit Auto Reset

Instructs the users PC to display an error and reset from the Input Inhibit state when the user selects certain keys.

To select advanced 5250 display settings

  1. From the Edit or Options menu, choose Settings.

  2. Choose Display from the Category list to open the Settings - 5250 Display pages.

  3. From the Advanced page, set the appropriate display session options as desired: word wrap, type-ahead, Hex mode preserve, enable host beep, aid field exit mode, and input inhibit auto reset support.

  4. Choose OK when you have finished setting all desired display settings.
