You can use the AS/400 Communications utility to create a "standalone" connection between your PC and an AS/400 host. Standalone connections let you work with 5250 Tools, such as File Transfer and Remote Command, without making a connection through a display or printer session.
When you create or edit these standalone connectivities, you will not see Auto Sign On options in the Advanced page for your connectivity, and for some connections, Extra! provides an additional Code Page property tab, that lets you set your host and PC code pages.
