In a VT session, when the host enables ANSI Locator mode, you can specify screen locations and send locator position reports and locator device status reports (DSRs) back to the host.
After the host sends the control sequence to enable ANSI Locator mode, by default the cursor changes to a small crosshair, and the PC tracks the locator locally, without host intervention.
You can use your mouse as a VT340 locator device to send position reports to the host. Both One Shot mode and Multiple mode are supported. One Shot mode is exited after a single position report is sent to the host. In Multiple mode, multiple position reports can be sent to the host. Only the host can exit Multiple mode.
To send a locator report to the host
When the host activates ANSI Locator mode, use your mouse to move the cursor to the desired position.
Press a mouse button to send a locator report to the host.

NOTE:Locator reports to the host include the event that initiated the report, the current state of the locator keys, the page number, and the coordinates of the input cursor at the time of the event.
One Shot mode is exited after a single position report is sent to the host. In Multiple mode you can send many position reports before the host exits Multiple mode.
