Edit Translation Table

Getting there

In the T27 Print Services Configuration Utility, click Miscellaneous under EV 1. Click Browse. Navigate to Documents\MicroFocus\InfoConnect\Macros. Select Britain.XLT. Click Edit.

Using the Translation Table window, you can add, modify, or delete individual character translations within the selected translation table.

Translation List

This list box displays the character translations that are currently defined for this table. If you are editing or deleting a translation, select the desired translation from this list.

Translate From

If you are adding a new translation or modifying an existing one, type the character that you want to translate.

You can type either the ASCII character or the decimal value for the character. To specify a decimal value, press and hold down the ALT key, type a zero followed by the decimal value of the desired character on the numeric keypad, and then release the ALT key. For example, to type Ç, you would hold down the ALT key, type 0199 on the numeric keypad, and then release the ALT key. View an ASCII table that includes decimal values for characters.

The hexadecimal equivalent of the character you type appears to the right of this field.

Translate To

If you are adding a new translation or modifying an existing one, type the character that you want to use instead of the character entered in the Translate From field.

You can type either the ASCII character or the decimal value for the character. Wait For Next Buffer

Click the action to take if a translation sequence breaks across two buffers; that is, a portion of the translation sequence is at the end of one buffer and the other portion is at the beginning of the next buffer:

In the drop-down, click ...

To do this ...

Never

Never wait for the next buffer.

If a translation sequence is broken across two buffers, it is considered two separate sequences. This is the default value, which should be appropriate in most cases.

Always

Always wait for the next buffer.

If a translation sequence is broken across two buffers, T27 Print Services waits for the second buffer before performing a translation.

If Continuation

Wait for the next buffer when the PC receives the continuation character specified in the Continuation Character text box.

WhenIf Continuation is selected, enter the appropriate Continuation Character. This is the character that T27 Print Services looks for to signal the end of a buffer. The hexadecimal equivalent of the character you type appears to the right of the text box.
