Colors Category

Using this tab, you can specify the colors and attributes to use for characters sent from the host.

For example, you could specify that when the host sends characters with the attributes Normal and Blink, T27 displays the characters as red and bold.

T27 Color Schemes

T27 comes with two predefined color schemes that control the colors of the text and background in the session window:

  • BLUEWHT: Blue text on a white background

  • WHTBLUE: White text on a blue background

When configuring T27, you can apply one of these color schemes or create your own.

To create a color scheme

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. From the Options menu, click Settings.

  3. From the Categories list box, click Colors.

  4. Specify the desired colors and attributes.

  5. Click Save As and complete the Save Scheme dialog box.

Description

Scheme

Click the name of the color scheme to use for this session.

The list box displays both local schemes and remote schemes. (The locations of local and remote schemes are defined on the Global Preferences dialog box).

If you have not created any color schemes, this list box is blank, and any changes you make to the session colors are saved in the session profile.

Save As

Click this button to display the Save Scheme dialog box.

Using this dialog box, you can save the specified colors as a scheme.

Delete

Click this button to delete the color scheme displayed in the Scheme list box.

Click the item whose color you want to specify

When you click the text and then click a color on the palette, you define the color of the text. When you click the area to the right of the text and then click a color on the palette, you define the color of the background. The current colors appear in this figure.

Screen Item

Click the type of text or background whose colors you want to specify.You can also click the desired item in the picture of the screen.

Normal

Click this option to specify the colors of normal characters.

Reverse

Click this option to specify the colors of reverse video characters.

Secure

Click this option to specify the colors of secure characters.

Rev Secure

Click this option to specify the colors of reverse video secure characters.

Bold

Select this option to make the specified characters bold.

If you clear this option, the characters appear in their regular font.

Underline

Select this option to make the specified characters underlined.

If you clear this option, the characters will not be underlined.

Blink

When the host sends text with the blinking attribute, this selection preserves that attribute.

Plain

When the host sends text with the blinking attribute, this selection disables blinking and displays unblinking text.

Underline

When the host sends text with the blinking attribute, this selection disables blinking and underlines the text instead.

Reverse

When the host sends text with the blinking attribute, this selection disables blinking and displays the text in reverse video instead.

To specify colors and attributes

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. From the Options menu, click Settings.

  3. From the Categories list box, click Colors.

  4. In the Mode group box, click one of the four categories of characters.

  5. Click the text or background of a type of character in the picture of the screen, or click the desired type of character from the Screen Item list box.

  6. Click the color on the palette that you want to use for the selected characters.

  7. To specify bold or underline attributes for the selected characters, click the desired options In the Attributes group box.

  8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 until you have specified all the colors and attributes for your T27 session.

  9. To save the specified colors as a scheme that can be loaded at any time or associated with a recorded host screen, click Save As and complete the Save Scheme dialog box.

To apply a color scheme

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. From the Options menu, click Settings.

  3. From the Categories list box, click Colors.

  4. From the Scheme list box, click the color scheme that you want to apply to the current session.

  5. Do one of the following:

    Apply the color scheme and close the Settings dialog box

    Click OK.

    Apply the color scheme but keep the Settings dialog box open

    Click Apply.
