Tabs Tab

Using this tab, you can configure fixed tabs or variable tabs.

Description

Tab Type

Click one of the following options:

  • Fixed: Equally spaced intervals

  • Variable: Irregular intervals

NOTE:If you click Fixed, you must type a value in the Spacing option. If you click Variable, you must set the specific tab stops on the Tab Column Settings ruler.

Spacing

If you selected Fixed as the Tab Type, use the arrow buttons to specify the number of columns between tabs.

Tab Column Settings

If you selected Variable as the Tab Type, you can place tab stops on the ruler.

Clear Tabs

If you selected Variable as the Tab Type, click this button to remove all variable tab stops from the ruler.

NOTE:To clear just one variable tab stop, click it with the mouse.

To set a tab

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. From the Options menu, click Settings.

  3. From the Categories list box, click Display.

  4. Click the Tabs tab.

  5. Click one of the following options:

    To set tabs

    Click

    Equally spaced intervals

    Fixed

    Irregular intervals

    Variable

  6. Do one of the following:

    If you selected

    Do this

    Fixed

    In the Spacing list box, type the number of columns between tabs. (You can also specify the number using the arrow buttons.)

    Variable

    Using the left mouse button, click the location on the ruler where you want to put the tab.

    You can also use the right arrow or left arrow keys to move the cursor to the desired column, then press the spacebar.

To clear tabs

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. From the Options menu, click Settings.

  3. From the Categories list box, click Display.

  4. Click the Tabs tab.

  5. Click Variable.

    You can clear tabs only if you select Variable as the Tab Type.

  6. Do one of the following:

    To clear

    Do this

    One tab

    Using the left mouse button, click the tab that you want to clear.

    You can also use the right arrow or left arrow keys to move the cursor to the desired column, then press the space bar.

    All tabs

    Click Clear.
