4.2.9 Transmitting Data Using T27

When you have connected to a host, you can transmit the following data:

  • An entire page

  • The data from home to the end of the page

  • The data in the line where the cursor is located

  • Data digits

  • The cursor location (column and line number)

  • The cursor location and page number

The T27 session configuration and the keystrokes you use interact to determine what data is transmitted, and how it is transmitted.

To transmit a page

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. If the session is not currently connected to a host, click on the toolbar.

  3. Make sure that Line At A Time Transmit and Forms Transmit To Cursor are cleared in the session configuration.

    To verify these settings, click Settings from the Options menu, click Display from the Categories list box, and then click the Char Interpretation tab.

  4. When you are ready to transmit the data on the page, click on the toolbar.

To transmit a portion of a page

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. If the session is not currently connected to a host, click on the toolbar.

  3. Make sure that Line At A Time Transmit and Forms Transmit To Cursor are cleared in the session configuration.

    To verify these settings, click Settings from the Options menu, click Display from the Categories list box, and then click the Char Interpretation tab.

  4. Position the cursor where you want the data transmission to begin.

  5. Press CTRL, Home to set the cursor location as the mobile home.

  6. When you are ready to transmit the data on the page, click on the toolbar.

To transmit a line

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. If the session is not currently connected to a host, click on the toolbar.

  3. Position the cursor in the line that you want to transmit.

  4. When you are ready to transmit, click on the toolbar.

To transmit data digits

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. If the session is not currently connected to a host, click on the toolbar.

  3. Press CTRL.

  4. Type the number that you want to send to the host (0-99).

  5. Click on the toolbar.

To transmit data digits and the cursor location

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. If the session is not currently connected to a host, click on the toolbar.

  3. Press CTRL.

  4. Type the number that you want to send to the host (0-99)

  5. Click on the toolbar.

    NOTE:If Specify Key Sends Page # is selected in the session configuration, clicking this button sends the page number as well as the column and line information. If you do not want to send the page number, you must clear this option. (To change this option, click Settings from the Options menu, click Display from the Categories list box, and then click the Keyboard tab.)

To print field delimiters

  1. If a T27 session is not already open, open one.

  2. Do one of the following:Click on the toolbar.

    -or-

    From the File menu, click Print Screen.

  3. Click Options.

  4. Click Advanced.

  5. Select Translate Data.

  6. Click Translate.

  7. Double-click PRINTDEL.TBL.

    This translation tables filters out special characters, such as highlight and blink characters, that could interfere with printing.

    NOTE:You must assign this translation table to every T27 session. The printing options are saved on a per-session basis.
