UDP FRAD Path Configuration Dialog Box

Using this dialog box, you can specify the configuration settings for your host connection. You can customize the UDP FRAD path template to your environment.

Options

Description

Host

Select the name of the EDS SHARES host you want to connect to. This option is available only when you are using EDS SHARES as your network.

IP Address

If you are not using EDS SHARES, type the IP address for the host you are connecting to.

If you are using EDS SHARES as your network, this field is filled automatically after you select a host. If you are using EDS SHARES and connecting to a print server, create a new Host entry and type the IP address of the print server.

Delete

Click this button to delete the host that currently appears in the Host list box.

Notify: 1

Select the primary host to receive an initialization message when the print server is active.

If you are using EDS SHARES and have selected a print server in the Host list box, you must identify at least one host to receive the initialization message.

Notify: 2

Select the secondary host to receive an initialization message when the print server is active.

If you are using EDS SHARES and have selected a print server in the Host list box, you must identify at least one host to receive the initialization message.

Every XX Minutes

Select the number of minutes to periodically send a reminder notification to the print host. The reminder contains the terminal address and is helpful should you lose connection with the print host. The default number of minutes is 30. Your situation will determine the how often the notification should be sent.

LN

Type the line number (LN) assigned to you by your system administrator. This option is available only when you are using EDS SHARES as your network.

IA

Type the interchange address (IA) assigned to you by your system administrator. This option is available only when you are using EDS SHARES as your network.

TA

Type the terminal address (TA) assigned to you by your system administrator.

Network

Select the type of network you are using.

Custom Port Numbers

If your site requirements require you to configure custom port numbers, enter the new port configuration in this group box. Otherwise, you do not need to use custom port numbers.

Port numbers are 3000 plus your Terminal Address (TA) number, for example, 3016.

Source

The local PC port number.

Destination

The remote host port number.

To add a host

  1. Click the Host list box.

  2. Type a new three-character host name.

  3. Type the IP address for the host you are connecting to.

  4. Complete the dialog box.

  5. Click OK. The new host now appears in the Host list box.

To configure the UDP FRAD path options

  1. Go to Paths.

  2. Do one of the following:

    InfoConnect Manager

    Click a UDP path in the InfoConnect Paths list.Click Modify. The Modify Path: UDP dialog box displays.

    Database Editor

    From the Connection Type list box, click UDPFRAD.From the Paths And Their Descriptions list box, click the name of the path that you want to modify.

    Connection Manager

    In the logical tree, click the UDP path you want to configure.

  3. Click Configure [Path]. The UDP FRAD Path Configuration Dialog Box appears.

  4. Complete the UDP FRAD Path Configuration Dialog Box.

  5. Save.
