Using this tab, you can set options that control printing, communications, and the display.

Print Mode |
Click the option that indicates how to handle spaces and carriage returns when you issue a host print command:

Select the data to transmit. To transmit:

Destructive Space |
Select this option to delete the character at the cursor location when you press the space bar. If you clear this option, pressing the space bar moves the cursor to the right without deleting any characters. |
Display Control Chars |
Select this option to display all control characters with decimal values less than 32, such as line feed, form feed, and tab characters. If you clear this option, these characters will not appear in the session window. |
Enable System Response Mode |
Select this option to be able to enter system mode. If you clear this option, you will not be able to put the session in system mode. |
Save Host Control Page Changes |
Select this option to save any changes the host sends to the Control Page or Extended Control Page during a session. When you next open the session, the latest changes from the host will remain in effect for the new session. If you clear this option, the host changes will not be saved, and the Control Page or Extended Control Page will reflect the settings it had before the host changed them. |
Extended Control Page |
Select this option to enable the Extended Control Page, which is used for file transfers to System 80 hosts. If you select this option, the Extended Control Page appears instead of the regular Control Page. If you clear this option, only the regular Control Page is displayed. |
Reverse Status Line |
Select this option to reverse the foreground and background colors of the status line. If you clear this option, the foreground and background colors will not be reversed. |
Xmit Expanded FCCs |
Select this option to transmit expanded FCCs (such as protection and video attributes) to the host. If you clear this option, UTS converts expanded FCCs into the closest corresponding regular FCCs before transmitting them. |
Upper Case Only |
Select this option to display only uppercase characters in the session window. If you clear this option, you can type both lowercase and uppercase characters. |
Copy Link Data |
Select this option to copy text as an OLE item. You can then paste the item into an application that supports OLE linking. Clear this option to copy as plain text instead of an OLE item. |
Defaults |
Click this button to restore the default Control Page settings. |
To specify how to print data
If a UTS session is not already open, open one.
From the Options menu, click Settings.
From the Categories list box, click Display.
Click the Control tab.
From the Print Mode list box, click the option that indicates how to handle spaces and carriage returns when you issue a host print command.
To specify what data to transmit
If a UTS session is not already open, open one.
From the Options menu, click Settings.
From the Categories list box, click Display.
Click the Control tab.
From the Transmit Mode list box, click what data UTS should transmit.
To specify how the space bar works
If a UTS session is not already open, open one.
From the Options menu, click Settings.
From the Categories list box, click Display.
Click the Control tab.

NOTE:This option is enabled only if the session is configured to emulate a UTS 20 or UTS 40 terminal. To verify the terminal type, click Session Type from the Options menu and check the item selected from the Display/Device Type list box.
To specify how to transmit expanded FCCs
If a UTS session is not already open, open one.
From the Options menu, click Settings.
From the Categories list box, click Display.
Click the Control tab.

From the Options menu, click Settings.
From the Categories list box, click Display.
Click the Control tab.
