9.4.2 Display tab

Character blink time (ms)

Use this option to slow down or speed up the blink as needed. Type a value, between 1-65535, to specify the number of milliseconds between blinks in the blinking attribute. Increasing the value slows the blinking rate. The default value is 500.

Scroll delay

Use this option to determine how often the screen updates when you are running host scroll-mode applications. Type a value between 1 and two times the number of lines on the terminal screen. Increasing the value increases the scroll speed. The recommended setting is 8.

Disable scroll optimization

Some applications, such as the clock, have the ability to be visible always. This can cause scrolling problems in PEP. When you select this check box, PEP uses an alternate method of scrolling. This causes PEP to perform slower but avoids the scrolling problems.

Show control page during host access

Select this check box to display the control page when it is opened by the host.

Allow color control page

Select this check box to access the color options button in the control page dialog box if you are using UTS 20 or UTS 40 terminal types.

Dim background when foreground is same color

Select this check box to dim the background color and brighten the foreground color when the foreground and background colors are the same color.

Always use dim background colors

Selecting this check box to display the background colors with the dim FCC attribute on and to display the foreground colors with the light or normal attribute on. This enables screens that are designed to be used with DSSP to display.

Force DSSP colors

Select this check box to force PEP to display colors that mimic the colors on DSSP screens; that is, background colors show as DIM colors, and all foreground colors except black, yellow, and white show as DIM colors.

Suppress emphasis

Select this check box to suppress emphasis characters such as strike-through, underline, right column separator, and left column separator on terminal types other than a UTS 20.
