To put a session in system mode

  1. If a UTS session is not already open, open one.

  2. If the session is not currently connected to a host, click the connect button on the toolbar.

  3. Make sure that Enable System Response Mode is selected in the session configuration.

  4. Press ALT+SHIFT+Y.

    NOTE:If you're using a keyboard map other than PEPWIN.EKM, press the keystroke associated with the SystemMode command.

    When the session is in system mode, the word SYS MOD appears in the status line, and a two-line display appears on the screen. In the first line, you can type a message and send it to the host. The second line displays the host response.

  5. To exit system mode and return to workstation mode, press ALT+SHIFT+W.

    NOTE:If you're using a keyboard map other than PEPWIN.EKM, press the keystroke associated with the WorkstationMode command.
