4.1.17 Open Application Dialog Box

The Open Application dialog box provides a convenient method for switching environments during UTS sessions.

After configuring your session paths, you must first enter the environment names into the registry. This registry list determines what environments will appear on the Open Application dialog box. By pressing SHIFT+ALT+A to evoke the Open Application dialog box, you can view your registry list and choose the desired environment.

To use the open application dialog box

  1. Locate UTS_HOSTAPP.REG in the Accmgr32 directory.

  2. Open the file using a text editor, such as Notepad or Wordpad.

  3. Click on the string name App1.

  4. From the Edit menu, click Modify.

  5. On the Edit String dialog box, enter one of the environments that you established during configuration in Value data and click OK.

    NOTE:To ensure that your entry matches one of the environments that you configured, view the environment list by clicking the Environment tab in Database Editor. (Database Editor is located in the Infocn32 folder.)

  6. Repeat steps 3-7, choosing successive AppX names until you have entered all of the environments that you plan to use and then save the file.

  7. Locate UTS_HOSTAPP.REG in the Accmgr32 directory, using Windows Explorer.

  8. Double-click the UTS_HOSTAPP.REG file.

  9. On the Registry Editor window, click Yes.

    A success message will indicate that the information you entered has been added to the registry.

  10. Press SHIFT+ALT+A to evoke the Open Application dialog box to view your registry list and choose the desired environment.
