19.22 Splitting Volumes with DFS

The Split Volume function uses OES Distributed File Services to move a specified part of a volume’s file structure, data, and the file system trustee rights information from the original location to a new volume in the network. A DFS junction replaces the selected directory and its contents in the source volume. The data and metadata in the directory are moved to the target location, which can be the root directory or other directory in the destination volume. For guidelines and procedures for splitting volumes, see Using DFS to Split NSS Volumes in the OES 2018 SP3: Distributed File Services Administration Guide for Linux.
