SUSE Manager version 4.3.15 or later supports product migration from OES 23.4 to OES 24.4 or OES 25.2.
To upgrade OES using SUSE manager, perform the following steps:
Ensure that you have completed the instructions in Section 8.9.1, Setting Up SUSE Manager, and patched the OES server with the latest patches.
Run the zypper pd command to ensure that the Open_Enterprise_Server-migration is listed but not installed.
To check the products installed, run zypper pd -i command.
The installed products contain information about the distribution upgrades and the migration products that should be installed to perform the migration.
Use the zypper se -t product | grep -h -- "-migration" | cut -d\| -f2 command.
A sample output is as follows:
Open_Enterprise_Server-migration
Install migration products using the zypper in -t product Open_Enterprise_Server-migration command.
Perform the service pack migration:
Log in to the SUSE Manager Web console with administrative credentials.
Click System, then select the OES server to be migrated.
Click Software > SP Migration and verify the information of the installed product (OES 23.4) and target product (OES 24.4).
Click the Select Channels to view the target channels, and ensure that all mandatory channels are selected, if not, select manually.
Click Schedule Migration > Confirm.
Reboot the OES server after the support pack migration.
Log in to the OES server and run the yast2 repositories command.
From the repositories, remove the OES 23.4 installation sources (if present), then add the OES 24.4 installation sources.
Run the following command to complete the OES services reconfiguration:
yast2 channel-upgrade-oes
