28.4 How to view groups and users?

Users create files or launch programs, and these files and programs are associated with a primary or secondary group. A user who is a part of the group can access these files and programs if necessary permissions are granted.

  1. Browse and select containers that contain the workstations.

  2. Select the workstations, click the More actions button , and then click Manage groups. A list of LUM-enabled groups are displayed. You can remove groups and view users that are part of the group.

    Column Name

    Description

    Name

    The name of the group.

    Users

    The number of LUM-enabled users that are part of the group.

    Container

    The container (O or OU) to which the group belongs. This container can be different than the workstation’s container.

    Workstation

    The group is part of this workstation.

  3. Select a group and click View users. A list of LUM-enabled users who are part of the selected group are displayed.

    Description

    User

    The name of the user.

    Container

    The container (O or OU) to which the both group and its users belong.

    Primary group

    The designated primary (or default) group for each user.

    Secondary group

    The additional groups to which the user may belong is referred as secondary group.

    Workstation

    The workstations to which the groups and users are associated.
