LUM-enabled groups are groups in an OES environment that are managed by a centralized user directory service, such as eDirectory. This allows for efficient and centralized management of users and groups across the OES environment.
For example, a workstation in an organization might have a LUM-enabled group called finance. This group is linked to a corresponding group in eDirectory, which includes all users in the finance department. Any user added to the finance group in eDirectory will automatically gain access to finance-related resources on the workstation, without the need to manually adjust local user settings.
All members of a LUM group can be LUM-enabled. When a user is enabled for LUM for the first time, they receive the group ID (GID) as their primary GID. Users who are previously enabled for LUM will have the group ID as a secondary GID. It is important to note that users who are not enabled for LUM cannot log in to a workstation, even if they belong to a LUM-enabled group.
