27.4 Associating VMware Networks with Target Workloads

After you discover target Network resources for a project, you can associate them with workloads.

To associate a workload with a network:

  1. In the Web Interface toolbar, select Planning.

  2. Select the Workloads tab.

  3. Select the workload, then click Edit. You can alternatively double-click the workload of interest.

  4. On the Workload dialog in the Network Interfaces panel, click Edit.

  5. From the Network list, select the Network resource that you want to assign to the target workload.

  6. (Optional) Modify other network interface information as appropriate.

  7. Click Save, and then click Close.

  8. Click Close to exit the Workload dialog.

For enhanced tracking, PTM automatically matches the platform to the target platforms for workloads in Manual (tracking) mode. You can view a list of these workloads in the Edit Platform dialog. You can also view a list of workloads associated with each Network (or Virtual Private Cloud) resource.

To view workloads in Manual (tracking) mode associated with the platform:

  3. View the workloads that are currently being tracked for this platform.

To view workloads in Manual (tracking) mode associated with a Network (or VPC) resource:

  1. In the Web Interface toolbar, select Platforms, select the platform, then click Edit.

  2. On the Edit Platform dialog, under Associations, select the Networks tab (or Virtual Private Clouds tab), click Virtual Networks, then double-click the Network (or VPC) resource.
