As system administrator, you can copy this product onto a server and then use Setup under control of a third-party software distribution package, such as Microsoft's Systems Management Server (SMS), to install it from there onto multiple users' machines.
Note: This method of installation and the associated file are not supported by Micro Focus. They are provided on an "as is" basis and have not been tested in any form. You may use them at your own discretion.
You can copy the Installation CD directory structure onto your server using the command xcopy /s and then install from there onto the individual users' machines, effectively running Setup from the Installation CD.
In the Setup directory of the installation CD are example files for SMS, with root names which match the .exe filenames. For example, if your Micro Focus product executable were named XYZ3250000123.exe then the SMS file will be named XYZ32MSI.pdf.txt.
The second file extension has been added to avoid it being confused with files that open with a PDF document reader. In order to use the file, you will need to rename it by removing the .txt extension.
Note: Some early versions of the file do not have the additional .txt extension.
Once you have copied the product to the server and configured your .pdf files, you can run SMS with your .pdf file to guide it, and specify the user machines to install on. Setup will run in batch mode in the background and will create a log (.mif) file in the Windows directory on each user machine. The installation is run entirely under the control of SMS.
