TopicsWhen you have developed an application using reUZE Developer, you run it under reUZE Server, which requires a license. You must have a reUZE Server and, depending on what features of the product you are using, a Sentinel RMS license installed before you can run the application in a production environment, regardless of whether the application is for internal use or for resale. In addition, if you intend to use the Database Connectors feature you will need a Database Connectors license and you must also have a .NET license installed if you intend to run .NET applications.
Micro Focus has taken the decision to start using Sentinel RMS from SafeNet instead of the Micro Focus License Management System. New product releases will use Sentinel RMS, as will updates to existing products. We believe that by switching to Sentinel RMS we are offering you a better solution to the issue of license management.
While we are in the process of switching, it is unavoidable that some products will use the Micro Focus License Management System while others will use Sentinel RMS. In some cases, a product will use both the Micro Focus License Management System and Sentinel RMS, requiring you to obtain two licenses to enable all features of the product.
When you obtain reUZE Server for Windows, you receive a License Key Card to license some features of reUZE Server and Sentinel RMS License Authorization Key Cards to license others. A separate, additional license is required if you are using the Database Connectors feature.
The License Key Card is your paper copy of the product license and has a printed license key and serial number on it. It identifies the number of licensed users, the product name and the version. You need the license key and serial number from this card to license some features of reUZE Server on the Micro Focus Licensing System. This is the license key and serial number you are prompted to enter during product installation.
The Sentinel RMS License Authorization Key Cards are required to license other features of your product. You need to use the Micro Focus License Management tool, which is installed as part of your product, to administer these license types.
Database Connectors requires the installation of a license file. You need the product code and keys, supplied with your product, to create the license file.

If you are using features that require a license from Sentinel RMS you will need to use the Micro Focus Licensing Administration tool. Depending on your product, you can find information on the tool in Deployment Licensing or Overview of Development Licensing.
Warning: On Windows, your native code (not .NET managed code) applications will stop working if you exceed your licensed capacity, although they might continue to work for a short time. You must order more licenses from Micro Focus, and then install them.
