Edit Grants dialog

Click the appropriate link below to view help for each section of the Edit Grants dialog:

 

Grant Table

Name: Displays the name of the grantee.

Type: Displays the grant type: user, group, or host. A user grant allows access only to the users specified in the grant. A group grant, allows access to all members of the group. A host grant, specified by the host name of the machine, allows access only to that host.

Licenses: Displays the number of concurrently allowed licenses, or notes that licensing is unlimited.

Date From: Displays the date on which the grantee will be able to begin accessing the application.

Date To: Displays the date through which the grantee will be able to access the application.

Day Fr: Displays the day of the week on which the grantee will be able to begin accessing the application.

Day To: Displays the day of the week through which the grantee will be able to access the application.

Hour Fr: Displays the hour of the day on which the grantee will be able to begin accessing the application.

Hour To: Displays the hour of the day through which the grantee will be able to access the application.

 

Buttons

Add Grant: Adds the grant information entered in the section below the button to the Grants Table.

Delete Grant: Deletes the grant selected in the Grants Table from the list. To undo a delete, click the Cancel button on the Edit Grants dialog; don't click OK.

Reset: Clears the information entered in the section below the button or resets the default values.

OK: Saves your changes and exits the Edit Grants dialog.

Cancel: Exits the Edit Grants dialog without saving your changes.

 

Create/Edit Grants

Grantee: Type the name of the grantee, the user, group, or host to which you are assigning permissions.  If user or group is selected, then you can click the browse button and select an existing user or group name from the invoked dialog. Also see Creating a Grant.

User Password: If you selected user in the Grantee box and want the system to check for a password, type the user password here.

Confirm Password: If you typed a password in the User Password box, re-type the password here.

Permission: Select grant type (allow/deny). If the first grant is specified for a policy, this selection becomes disabled and all other grants for this policy will be of the same type. After deleting the last grant for a policy, the selection becomes enabled again.

Date tab: If applicable, select the Date Timeframe text box and specify the date range for which the grant is to be valid.

Day tab: If applicable, select the Day Timeframe text box and select the day or days of the week for which the grant is to be valid.

Hour tab: If applicable, select the Hour Timeframe text box and specify the hours of the day for which the grant is to be valid.

Unlimited Licenses: If you don't want to allow Unlimited Licenses for the grantee, click the arrow to select Number of Licenses, then specify a particular number of licenses.
