3.0 Known Issues in Merant License Manager

3.1 Instructions for Setting Up the License Server

The instructions for setting up the license server are located in the Merant Licensing Quick Start Guide. You can download this guide from SupportNet or find it on the product CD. You can also find in-depth information on setting up the license server and licensing in the:

3.2 UNIX: Current Working Directory Must Be in Path to Manually Stop/Start License Manager

To start or stop the Merant License Manager from a command prompt, the current working directory (".") must be in your PATH statement. When you use the Merant License Manager GUI to apply a key or make changes to the License Manager configuration, the server will be started (or restarted) automatically.

3.3 UNIX: Ensure Current Working Directory is in the Path When Using License Manager on the Command Prompt

If you want to start or stop the Merant License Manager from a command prompt, make sure the current working directory (".") is in your PATH statement. When you use the Merant License Manager GUI to apply a key or make changes to the License Manager configuration, the server will start (or re-start) automatically

3.4 Merant License Server GUI does not appear when using PC Anywhere

If the you are using a PCANYWHERE session to access the Merant License Manager, the PC Anywhere service (Version 10.5.0 Build 477) will not appear. You must go to the license server and run License Manager or use another service to access it remotely.

3.5 Restrict User Names to 20 Bytes

When entering user names or using the auto-add feature to add user names to the in the License Manager, restrict the names to 20 bytes or less.
