Installing Service Pack 3

If you are using VisiBroker 8.5 Service Pack 3, you must:

1	Install VisiBroker 8.5, as described in this Installation Guide.

2	Install Service Pack 3 by downloading the Service Pack release archive to your <VBROKERDIR> folder and unpacking it in the same folder.

3	Specify the default Security Provider, downloading the separate VisiBroker 8.5 SP3 OpenSSL Security patch if required. You may instead continue to use the existing Certicom Security Provider without taking any further action.

Security Provider

Prior to version 8.5 SP2, VisiSecure supported the Certicom security provider. At version 8.5 SP2, VisiSecure for C++ supported a choice of security providers, Certicom or OpenSSL.

At the current release, the main VisiBroker 8.5 SP3 pack does not include an update to the security providers. If you intend to use the latest OpenSSL Security Provider, you will need to download and install the separate VisiBroker 8.5 SP3 OpenSSL Security patch. You may continue to use the existing Certicom Security Provider without taking any further action.

You can continue to switch between security providers by using the SelectSecurityProvider utility provided. For details of how to do this, see the section Specifying the Security Provider in the VisiBroker Security Guide.
