According to the ANSI standard, numbers are limited to 18 significant decimal digits. All significant digits must be within
18 digits of the decimal point.
Micro Focus COBOL gives an ON SIZE ERROR if either of the following conditions occurs:
A multiplication or division gives a result which is greater than 36 digits
An addition or subtraction gives a result which is greater than 37 digits
