Editing an additional preprocessor

Editing a preprocessor for a project

To configure a preprocessor for a project:

  1. Click Project > Properties.
  2. Expand Micro Focus > Project Settings > COBOL.
  3. Click Additional Preprocessors.
  4. Choose a preprocessor to edit in your project:
    • To edit your own or third-party preprocessor used in your project:
      1. Click on a custom preprocessor.
      2. Click Edit, this will open the Edit Custom Preprocessor dialog box.
      3. Type a new preprocessor name in the Name field, if required.
      4. Specify a new location for the preprocessor in the Location field. Alternatively, click Browse and navigate to the new preprocessor location.
      5. Type the new directives in the Directives field, if required.
      6. Click OK.
    • To edit an installed preprocessor used in your project:
      1. Click on an installed preprocessor.
      2. Click Edit, this will open the Edit Installed Preprocessor dialog box.
      3. Type the new directives in the Directives field.
      4. Click OK.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Editing a preprocessor for a build configuration

To configure a preprocessor for a build configuration:

  1. Click Project > Properties.
  2. Expand Micro Focus > Build Configurations > COBOL.
  3. Click Additional Preprocessors.
  4. Select the Build Configuration.
  5. Choose a preprocessor to edit for your build configuration:
    • To edit your own or third-party preprocessor used in your build configuration:
      1. Click on a custom preprocessor.
      2. Click Edit, this will open the Edit Custom Preprocessor dialog box.
      3. Type a new preprocessor name in the Name field, if required.
      4. Specify a new location for the preprocessor in the Location field. Alternatively, click Browse and navigate to the new preprocessor location.
      5. Type the new directives in the Directives field, if required.
      6. Click OK.
    • To edit an installed preprocessor used in your build configuration:
      1. Click on an installed preprocessor.
      2. Click Edit, this will open the Edit Installed Preprocessor dialog box.
      3. Type the new directives in the Directives field.
      4. Click OK.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.

Editing a preprocessor for a file

To configure a preprocessor for a file:

  1. In COBOL Explorer, right-click a COBOL program in your project, and click Properties.
  2. Click COBOL > Additional Preprocessors.
  3. Choose a preprocessor to edit for your file:
    • To edit your own or third-party preprocessor used for a file:
      1. Click on a custom preprocessor.
      2. Click Edit, this will open the Edit Custom Preprocessor dialog box.
      3. Type a new preprocessor name in the Name field, if required.
      4. Specify a new location for the preprocessor in the Location field. Alternatively, click Browse and navigate to the new preprocessor location.
      5. Type the new directives in the Directives field, if required.
      6. Click OK.
    • To edit an installed preprocessor used for a file:
      1. Click on an installed preprocessor.
      2. Click Edit, this will open the Edit Installed Preprocessor dialog box.
      3. Type the new directives in the Directives field.
      4. Click OK.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.
