Database Access

Use the following utilities and directives in your database applications to optimize performance:
The OpenESQL Configuration Utility
Use the OpenESQL Configuration utility to change the default behavior for the SQL(BEHAVIOR) directive when it has not been set explicitly in the program source code, the project settings, or a COBOL Compiler directives file.
The OPTPER Compiler Directive
This directive enhances performance for CHARSET EBCDIC processing. See the OPTPER DB2 Compiler directive and OPTPER SQL Compiler directive topics for details.
