Edit a Structure File

  1. From the Micro Focus Data File Tools window, click File > Open > File, or click (Open File).

    The Open dialog box appears.

  2. Navigate to the required structure file, then click Open.
    Tip: Click beside Files of type, then select Structure Files (.str) to filter on structure files only.

    The structure file appears in the Structure File Editor.

  3. To add a new layout:
    1. Within the Debug File section, click Browse, then navigate to and select the required .idy file. The Data Division of the file appears in the Available Layouts pane.
    2. Create the layout as explained in Create a Structure File. The layout is added to the structure file.
  4. To delete a layout:
    1. Select any node within the layout, right-click and select Delete Layout.

      The layout is deleted.

  5. To add a condition to a layout:
    1. Right-click the node on which to add the condition, then select Properties.
      Note: Conditions can only be added to elementary items, not group items.

      The Field Properties dialog box appears.

    2. Add the condition criteria, then click OK.

      The condition is added to the layout.

  6. To edit a condition within a layout:
    1. Right-click the node on which the condition is set, then select Properties.

      The Field Properties dialog box appears.

    2. Edit the condition criteria, then click OK.
  7. To delete a condition within a layout:
    1. Right-click the node on which the condition is set, then select Properties.

      The Field Properties dialog box appears.

    2. Clear the Set Condition check box, then click OK. The condition is deleted from the layout.
  8. On the File menu, select Save.

    The Save dialog box appears.

  9. Click Save.
