Service

Use this page to view information about a particular service, selected from the Services page. You can also change the log status and create a new copy of the IDT.

Restriction: This topic applies only when the Enterprise Server feature is enabled.

Click this to save changes you have made to the page and refresh the page. This button is displayed only if you have permission to edit the service.

Name

Shows the service namespace.

Transaction

Shows the characteristics of the service. The characteristics relate to the commit/rollback of protected resources accessed by the service. Values can be Container Managed or Application Managed.

RTS Trace

Specifies the state of entry and exit tracing for the service:

  • None - no tracing is done
  • User - user applications are traced
  • System - the system is traced
  • Both - both applications and the system are traced
Log I/O

Shows whether, for each request for this service the request and response blocks are written to the enterprise server dump data set. If None, nothing is logged. If Dump, request and response blocks are written to the enterprise server dump data set. To set the log to None or Dump, click on the dropdown box, select the required setting, and click Change.

Only use this option if you need diagnostics, as it degrades performance.

Ref. Count

Shows the number of applications that reference this service.

Service Status

Shows the current status of the service. The possible statuses are:

  • In service - the service is available.
  • Error - an error has occurred such that it has not been possible to set the status to any other value.
  • Disabled - the service is disabled.
