To create a SQL Server database project

  1. Be sure that you have enabled SQL CLR and that you have created a SQL Server database.
  2. In Visual Studio, click File > New > Project.
  3. In the Create a new project dialog box, select COBOL from the Language drop-down list.
  4. Select SQL Server Database Project.
  5. From the drop-down list at the top of the center pane, select any .NET Framework version, including version 4 or 4.5.
  6. Complete the Name and Location fields; then click Create.
