The CSR Committee at Micro Focus is responsible for ensuring that the company has a fit for purpose Corporate Social Responsibility program and supporting policies in place in line with its FTSE100 responsibilities.

As well as helping our customers address their carbon footprint and adopt carbon friendly IT strategies such as enabling greater efficiency and longer life from their existing technology, Micro Focus is committed to improving its own carbon footprint.
Collectively our leadership team and employees are working to reduce our total energy consumption and waste materials. We are actively working towards the eradication of single use plastic company-wide in our offices where we have direct control and where we are tenants. Where possible we are working with landlords to ensure compliance with our company policy.
Micro Focus complies with all local environment legislation and has introduced several new programs such as improving office environments by selecting locations with top LEED ratings such as silver, gold and platinum through to upgrading to state of the art communication tools to minimize travel.
Investing in our people is key for customer success. Our people agenda is focused on employee engagement, talent enablement, reward and recognition. A global Employee Stock Purchase Plan was launched in 2018 and to date, employees across 36 countries have signed up to the new benefits. There is also a Sharesave plan in the UK and Ireland.
With an excellent record in Health & Safety, Micro Focus also has up to date policies in place to ensure compliance with anti-slavery, anti-bribery, corruption, data protection, market abuse and insider dealing laws, to name just a few.
Engaging employees in our community programs not only helps improve wellbeing and team work but also enables us to help address critically important issues facing our industry and society more broadly.
In March 2019, Micro Focus introduced a new volunteering policy whereby each employee can take one paid day a year to support Micro Focus’ two corporate themes namely mental health and inclusion & diversity and one paid day to support a charity or community project of choice. Employees are encouraged to participate in volunteering opportunities as teams for additional impact and teambuilding.
This builds upon our existing investments and projects which include fund-matching for individual charity fundraising and community grants, awarded to initiatives nominated by employees around the world.
