Digital inclusion prompts Andreas to open local internet café

Andreas Stenger, Presales Consultant, based in our Micro Focus Germany office, has been using his Micro Focus INSPIRE volunteering days to help equip communities with the right skills to be successful in the digital world. With a few donated computers, Andreas started an internet café to provide a gaming centre for teenagers in his local community – and to provide a place for local people to learn how to use a computer and improve their digital skills.

“I started planning this café last year and now it’s fantastic to be up and running. It’s a great way for teenagers to get together safely and, in addition, to encourage local people who do not have digital skills to learn how to use a computer and stay connected. The computers and monitors were donated and bought from online auction sites. As demand for the café grows, I am continuing to take in unwanted or used computers and monitors,” said Andreas.
