Jim Berry, Systems Administrator, Micro Focus, US, used one of his Micro Focus INSPIRE volunteering days to upcycle men’s shirts into eye-catching quilts that will be raffled to raise funds in support of men’s health charity, the Movember Foundation. (https://www.movember.com/?reset=1)
Each year Jim, together with a former school friend, raises funds for the Movember Foundation’s annual charity drive. Jim sews quilts and his friend raffles them, and in previous years the quilts have raised over $5,000 and $6,000 respectively. Last year, Jim stitched a moustache-themed quilt and this year, while he has chosen to keep the moustache theme, he has also upcycled used men’s shirts into a quilt – reducing his impact on the planet while raising funds for a worthy cause.
