Discovering SBM Webinar—Reporting on External Databases
Wednesday, 3 April 2019 | 9am–10am PST

In Solutions Business Manager, in a feature tucked away, lies a unique ability. Using Advanced Reporting Views, you can use the SBM database engine to access databases held on a separate database server. In this session, we will dive in to this ability and expose a Postgres database for a different system as a virtual table within SBM without a true copy of the data. We will then demonstrate the ability of the reporting engine to access that data and generate several different types of reports with this data.

When coordinating processes between multiple systems, we need to keep monitoring those other systems in order to respond to signals that might impact the process. With the SBM Scheduler introduced in 11.4, you are now able to set up those recurring monitoring efforts within the platform. These monitoring efforts can be designed with Orchestrations, ModScripts, send emails, or trigger other web services. Join us as we go through the Scheduler’s capabilities and demonstrate each one of these actions.

Oftentimes, customers have systems that require multiple steps to enable an integration. For example, one must generate an authentication token first, then they must pass that token in a specific manner to get back results from an API call. This immediately seems like a deal breaker for utilizing the External Feed capabilities of the Kanban board to visualize data from third-party systems… au contraire! Join us in this session as we mix the capabilities of ModScript and External Feeds in the Kanban board to handle these scenarios and more!

This session will take you through the common questions and process that we go through to help identify the use cases for integrations as well as discuss the various features of SBM that help enable those use cases.
